The Olympic Games evoke a rich tapestry of images and emotions: athletic excellence, heartfelt moments, the warmth of the Olympic flame, and the grandeur of the opening ceremony – a true celebration of human achievement and the Olympic spirit.
Challenge
Create an experience strategy and masterplan that captured the essence of the Olympic Games and showcased both Tokyo and Japanese culture, able to adapt across various different venues.
Solution
The ‘Infinite Possibilities’ hospitality masterplan originated from the venue locations, situated in two distinct zones – old Tokyo and new Tokyo – that seamlessly united to form an infinity icon. The experience spaces drew on the vibrant identity of the Games, infusing colour and culture into the environments. Each space, regardless of size, featured a central circular garden, reflecting the principles of ‘Omotenashi,’ the Japanese tradition of exceptional hospitality.
